Description

Grilled fish tacos are a delightful fusion of flavors, combining the smokiness of grilled fish with the freshness of vegetables and the tanginess of lime. This recipe offers a simple yet delicious way to prepare this classic dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb white fish fillets (such as tilapia or cod)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Fish

  • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to create a marinade.
  • Brush both sides of the fish fillets with the marinade.
  • Place the fish fillets on the preheated grill and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

Step 2: Warm the Tortillas

  • While the fish is grilling, warm the corn tortillas on the grill for about 30 seconds per side, until they are soft and slightly charred.
  • Wrap the warm tortillas in aluminum foil to keep them warm until serving.

Step 3: Assemble the Tacos

  • Once the fish is cooked, remove it from the grill and flake it into bite-sized pieces with a fork.
  • To assemble the tacos, place some shredded cabbage on each tortilla, followed by a portion of the grilled fish.
  • Top the fish with sliced avocado, diced tomatoes, and chopped cilantro.
  • Squeeze a lime wedge over each taco for a burst of citrus flavor.

Step 4: Serve and Enjoy

  • Serve the grilled fish tacos immediately, with extra lime wedges on the side.
  • Enjoy the delicious combination of flavors and textures in each bite!

Notes

  • If you prefer a spicier kick, add some sliced jalapenos or a drizzle of hot sauce to your tacos.
  • Customize your tacos with your favorite toppings, such as salsa, sour cream, or pickled onions.
  • For a lighter option, you can use lettuce wraps instead of tortillas.
